Create and manage playlists to group tracks.
Creating Playlists
Playlists let you group tracks for any purpose: pitching to a sync library, creating a demo reel, organising songs for an album, or sharing a curated selection with a collaborator. Unlike folders (which create a strict hierarchy), playlists are flexible references. The same track can appear in as many playlists as you like.
- Create playlists from the Playlists tab in your library
- Add tracks by dragging them onto a playlist, or right-click a track and choose Add to Playlist
- Reorder tracks within a playlist by dragging them up or down
- Share playlists with collaborators or via share links
Playlists Overview
Version Control in Playlists
Each track in a playlist can either follow the track's default version or be pinned to a specific version. By default, playlist items follow the track, so if you update the default version, the playlist automatically plays the new one.
When you need a playlist to stay locked to a particular mix (for example, a submission to a supervisor), you can pin a playlist item to a specific version. Pinned items will not change even if you upload a new master or change the default version elsewhere.
To pin a version, click the version indicator on the playlist item and select the version you want. To return to following the default, select "Follow Default".
Playlist Artwork and Colours
Each playlist can have its own artwork and accent colour. Artwork appears in the sidebar, on share pages, and in the player. If you do not set artwork, Locker generates a gradient based on the playlist's colour or displays a mosaic of the first few tracks.
Playlist Folders
Organise playlists into folders for even more structure. Useful when you have many playlists across different projects or clients. Drag a playlist onto a folder to move it, or create folders directly from the Playlists sidebar.
Folders can be nested, so you can create hierarchies like "Sync" containing "TV Placements" and "Film Placements", each with their own playlists.
Sharing Playlists
You can share a playlist by inviting collaborators directly or by generating a share link. When sharing, you choose the role (Editor or Viewer), and optionally set an expiry date, usage limit, or download permissions. Share links can also require the recipient to enter their email before accessing, which helps you track who has listened.
