Kii thinks before it speaks

  • SecurityA share link now reaches only the songs actually in it, checked against who made the link rather than what the link claims. This applies everywhere a link turns into audio: streaming, downloads, stems, voice notes and files.
  • SecurityFeedback left through a share link can only land on the songs that link was for, so a comment can never be attached to a song it was not sent about.
  • SecurityTranscription, audio analysis and stem separation now confirm a file is yours before they touch it, so your unreleased music cannot be worked on by anyone else.
  • SecurityUploads through connected apps are checked when they are created, not only when they change, and the routine that clears out abandoned uploads now proves a file is yours before deleting anything.

  • NewLocker now tells you when a mix you bounced never made it into your catalogue. It appears with your other suggestions, says which machine or drive the file is on, and imports through the normal uploader when you say yes.

  • FixedShare page titles now size themselves to fit perfectly, so a long name never breaks in half.

Voice notes grow up

  • NewImport audio files as voice notes. Voice Notes now has an import button beside the record button, so ideas captured in other apps can live with the song, with the same waveform, transcript and history as a recording.
  • ImprovedRecording starts the instant you press the mic, everywhere. That includes New, then Voicenote from the sidebar, which now opens the page already recording.
  • NewRecord music, not just speech, on your phone. A new music setting records in stereo at higher quality and turns off the phone-call processing that made instruments sound underwater. Set it once and every recording follows it.
  • FixedMarkers you add while recording now actually save with the note. They land at the moment you reached for the button, show on the live waveform, and can be renamed or removed at any time, including a custom name typed right in the marker menu.
  • ImprovedVoice notes are fully manageable from your phone: press and hold a note inside a song to rename, transcribe, send, download or delete it, and marker delete no longer needs a mouse.
  • FixedDeleting a voice note that lives on a lyric now sends it to the trash like everything else, so it can be restored. Deleted notes also stopped appearing as attachment options when you write a message.
  • FixedCollaborators with permission to record voice notes on a shared song no longer get an error when those notes transcribe.
  • FixedA transcription that fails on the server now says so and offers a retry, instead of showing Transcribing forever. Downloads also keep the correct file type for every format.

The brief block keeps up with you

  • ImprovedThe switch between a brief's document and its Songs list now sits in the block's title bar, so it is always in reach on a long brief.
  • ImprovedEvery song in a brief's Songs view now says what it is asking for: genre, mood, vocal, production and tempo pills, plus its notes and due date. No more flipping back to the brief to remember what you are hunting while you pick from your locker.
  • ImprovedSplitting a multi-artist brief into separate blocks now tells you exactly how many blocks it will create and asks first. One press of undo puts everything back.
  • ImprovedOn the phone, the Vocal and Production pickers now show proper coloured pills with a search, matching the mood and genre pickers.
  • FixedOnce you had picked a Vocal or Production requirement on a brief song there was no way back to Any. Both pickers now offer it, on desktop and phone.
  • ImprovedA brief block's controls moved up into its title bar and slimmed right down: copy the link, pick the brand, and one small menu with import, the brief room and settings. Pausing and closing the brief now live inside Link and brief settings. The roster block's controls moved up the same way.

A suggestion says what it means, wherever you meet it

  • FixedSuggestions now name the person a credit will actually land on, and show the spelling your source used underneath. A name Locker had already recognised as one of your contacts used to appear as a stranger being added, which made it look like the alias had not worked when it had.
  • NewPlay a suggested version before you add it from anywhere, including a song panel. Previously you could only listen inside the Knowledge hub, so the same file was audible in one place and silent in another.
  • ImprovedSuggestions on a song panel now show the versions you already have, so you can see what a proposed file would be joining, and let you drop a proposed name onto an existing credit to teach Locker the alias. Both were only available in the Knowledge hub before.
  • ImprovedAccepting a suggestion in the Knowledge hub now shows you the upload as it happens, with the file, the progress and the result. The card used to disappear the moment you clicked, so an import that takes minutes looked instant.
  • FixedOn a contact, "is this the same person?" suggestions now show the buttons that answer them, and dismissing one sticks instead of returning next time you open the panel.
  • ImprovedSuggestions in a Kii chat now let you credit the right person, instead of only accepting the card or hiding it.
  • FixedSome suggestions could not be reached by any filter in the Knowledge hub, and showed the wrong icon for what they were. They now sort and look like every other suggestion of their kind.
  • ImprovedKii answers now arrive as a clean, readable layout: the answer up top, honest facts as small pills, top picks with plain reasons, and one clear next step, all in Locker's own visual language.
  • ImprovedAsking Kii for a playlist now gets you a curated selection that respects what you asked for, like songs only, instead of every match dumped into one giant list. It also will not silently reuse a playlist name you already have.
  • ImprovedKii now talks about recommendations the way an A&R would: it leads with the picks it would actually send and explains each one in plain reasons, the sound, the voice, the tempo, whether it is unreleased, instead of quoting match percentages at you.
  • ImprovedBrief match scores are steadier on big documents: when a large brief makes the sound engine scale up, each search now waits for it instead of quietly settling for shallower scoring.
  • NewKii now understands what each brief is actually asking for. A request for sessions or writing camps gets a straight answer that they are not asking for songs, a request for beats only offers your instrumentals, and a sync request includes your released songs on purpose.
  • FixedBrief matching no longer hands out impossible perfect scores when a brief gives nothing musical to match on. Kii now says there is no direction to rank by and asks you for one instead.
  • FixedA brief search that hits a server error now says so on its card and offers a retry, instead of quietly looking like nothing matched. Failed searches also retry themselves once automatically.
  • ImprovedThe numbers in a multi brief answer now mean what they say: how many different songs matched across the whole document, and how many released songs were held back, counted properly.
  • ImprovedPlaylists created from brief matches now contain the exact version that matched, not whichever version happens to be first on the song.
  • FixedKii can now match a long brief. Asking it to find songs for a document with twenty or more requests used to run for a while and then give up, saying the connection had dropped. Kii now works through a brief a song at a time, so the length of the brief no longer decides whether you get an answer.
  • ImprovedIf a brief is too long to finish in one go, Kii tells you how much it covered and offers to carry on, rather than stopping partway without saying so. Anything it could not score is named instead of quietly appearing as no matches.
  • ImprovedFinding duplicate songs is now reliable on a large catalogue, and tells you plainly if it compared only part of it.

A suggestion you answer knows it was answered

  • FixedUpload the recording a Find audio card asked for and the card now retires itself, even when your file is named differently from the way your catalogue spells the song. Cards used to keep asking for recordings that were already in your Locker.
  • ImprovedThe uploader now knows which song you are answering. Writers, splits, publishing and the rest come from what your catalogue actually knows about that song, rather than being guessed from the filename, and each one tells you which sheet it came from.
  • ImprovedA song lands under the name your catalogue uses, and a banner at the top of the uploader shows you the song you are answering. One click keeps your file name instead if you prefer it.
  • NewAlready in your Locker? now appears on Find audio cards too, for songs that are already there under a different name. Point the card at the right song and it retires, with nothing to upload.
  • FixedWorking through a long list of suggestions no longer sends you back to the top. Showing more and then accepting one used to snap the list back to the first fifty.
  • ImprovedDelete a song that answered a suggestion and the suggestion comes back, so your catalogue never believes in a recording that is no longer there.
  • NewPlay any file a suggestion offers you, before you add it. Fourteen files called v4, v5, PCJK and NewVibe are impossible to tell apart by name, so now you can just listen. Files in your own folders play instantly, and files in Drive or Dropbox stream the opening on demand.

Every way a song arrives, one way it lands

  • FixedA song you accept from a brief now gets everything a song you upload gets: a proper title read from the filename rather than the raw filename itself, its version type, its tempo, key, genre and mood, and the sound fingerprint that lets it be found again.
  • FixedSongs that arrive without you dragging them in are analysed at last. Anything accepted from a brief, pulled in from Dropbox or Google Drive, added by Kii, or picked up by the Mac app was quietly skipping analysis, which also kept it out of brief matching and Find Similar.
  • ImprovedNames in brackets on a filename now become suggested writers wherever the song came in from, not only through the uploader. As always they are suggestions you confirm, never credits added behind your back.
  • FixedSongs that came in from somewhere other than the uploader no longer show a blank length. The duration was being worked out and then thrown away.
  • ImprovedAccepting a song now appears in your history the same way an upload does, and tells anyone you share your locker with that a song arrived.

The writing room learns music

  • NewPlay song: the writing room can now play your whole arrangement front to back, walking your sections in order and honouring their repeats.
  • NewEach section of a lyric can carry its own chords. Pick a section above the chord chart and the chart follows it, while Main stays the song's home.
  • NewA four lane sketchpad sits below the chord chart. Record into any lane, and the take saves so you can come back to it. Each lane can hold many takes, you choose the one showing, and when you play your chords every audible lane follows along. The sketchpad stretches each take to the tempo on your sheet, so you can change the feel and hear it work without re-recording.
  • NewTake your chords into the studio: export any sheet as a MIDI file or a plain text chord sheet.
  • ImprovedSongwriter tools are now three calm groups: Words, Music and Voice. The word tools share one search with five relations in a single row of chips, and the chord tools live together in Music with the key wheel, classic progressions and the piano a tap away.
  • ImprovedThe chord bar no longer docks under the lyrics editor. The Music group in Songwriter Tools is the one chord surface on every device, and the loop keeps sounding while you write, whatever the panel is showing.
  • ImprovedThe Co-Writer tool is taking a short rest while we rework it. Everything else in the lyrics editor is untouched.
  • FixedLong lists inside pop-ups scroll again. Your notifications, a playlist you are editing, the sharing panel and lyric version history all used to stop at the first screenful with no way to reach the rest.

A brief is one page, one desk, one world

  • NewA brief is now one page. What it asks for, everything in the running, and your shortlist read top to bottom in one place, with everything you do after choosing sitting along the bottom. Songs you keep float to the top of the song they answer.
  • NewBrief blocks in projects have a Songs view: the same desk the Briefs hub shows, so you can judge candidates without leaving the project. The badge on it tells you how many songs are waiting.
  • NewA brief someone sent you can now sit in a project as a block. Choose Work this with my team and it appears for everyone on the project, showing who it is from, when it is due, and the songs they want.
  • ImprovedA brief exists the moment you add its block, so Open brief always works and every match run is saved to it. Before, the brief was only really created when you opened its submission link.
  • ImprovedAsking people for songs is one thing now: a brief. The separate submission inbox is gone, and the old inbox links have quietly become briefs, so everything ever sent to you lands on one desk. The links themselves keep working exactly as before.
  • ImprovedKeyboard triage works on a brief again: J and K move through the pile, S keeps a song, Space plays it.
  • NewOn a phone, press and hold a song in a brief to select several, then keep or pass on them in one go.
  • FixedKii now reads a project brief exactly as it stands today. It had been scoring a snapshot from before the start of August, so edits since then were invisible to it.
  • FixedKii can now see briefs you have received, not just ones you wrote, and can tell you how each brief is doing: songs asked for, sent in, and awaiting review.
  • SecurityWhen a manager matches songs against a locker shared with them, demos accepted from strangers now stay out of the results, exactly as they do for the owner.
  • ImprovedEvery notification about a song sent in, or a brief link being visited, opens the brief it belongs to, wherever the door was.
  • NewEvery song a brief asks for now runs as a competition the whole team can see: Considering, Shortlist, Chosen and Out, with anyone able to move a song between stages and every move signed.
  • NewRate any candidate with one tap: Love, Good, or Not for this, with a one-line why. The team's favourites float to the top of each song's pile on their combined score.
  • NewComment on any candidate, and it lands in the same Comments panel the track itself shows, labelled with the brief it came from. Comment while a song plays and the moment is stamped on it.
  • ImprovedChoosing a song that was sent in brings it into your locker by itself. The separate Accept step is gone; whether senders get an email when chosen is a setting you pick once.
  • NewA brief can be closed: everything unchosen steps out of the running, senders are kindly told in one email each, and the desk stays forever as the record of who won and what everyone thought.
  • FixedShare links made by a collaborator from a locker shared with them now play and download properly, and the page names who shared them.
  • FixedWhen you send a song in answer to a brief, it arrives attached to the exact song it was answering.
  • FixedYour projects, playlists and show reels lists no longer count things you deleted long ago.
  • FixedYour corrections to a song's BPM, key, vocal type or production type now stick. Before, the next time that song was analysed it quietly put its own values back over yours.
  • ImprovedEditing one tag no longer locks the tags next to it. Add a genre of your own and it stays put, while the ones the analysis suggested are still free to improve as the analysis gets better.
  • ImprovedA tag you remove stays removed. The analysis will not keep putting it back.
  • ImprovedThe mark showing a tag is yours now sits on that exact tag, and on your own BPM, key, vocal type and production type too, so you can see at a glance which parts of a song you decided and which came from the analysis.
  • FixedRenaming a tag across your whole catalogue now lasts. It used to be undone the next time each song was analysed.
  • FixedTag changes show straight away. Adding, removing or swapping a tag no longer needs a page refresh before you can see it.
  • FixedA tag you removed can no longer reappear when you make your next edit. Because the old tags were still on screen, the following change was worked out from them and quietly put the removed one back.
  • ImprovedSong pages open a little quicker, because each version on screen no longer fetches information the app had already loaded.

Briefs work both ways, and keeping a song finally saves

  • FixedSplitting a song into its instrumental and a cappella works again. Since the end of July every attempt had been taking your credits and producing nothing. If a separation ever fails from now on, the credits come straight back to you.
  • SecurityYour private tag words stay private. Artist names, company names and collaborator lists you had saved as your own tags could be read by other people using the Claude connector. They cannot be any more.
  • SecurityKii cannot be tricked into offering you a misleading button. Text written by someone else, in a comment or an email reply, could persuade Kii to show a friendly looking button that quietly did something different from its label. That route is closed.
  • ImprovedShare activity now tells you when a visitor was actually asked for their name. If a link asks who is listening, the question only comes up when someone presses play, so a visitor who opens the page and leaves is never asked at all. That used to look identical to someone who was asked and said nothing. Your activity now shows the difference.
  • FixedBeing told your brief link was visited now opens that brief. It was opening your share links list, which does not even include submission links, so there was nothing there to find.
  • FixedA song sent in answering one of your briefs now opens that brief, where you can weigh it against everything else that came in. It was opening your messages instead.
  • FixedBeing told your whole locker submission link was visited now opens your submission inboxes rather than your share links.
  • FixedBeing told someone edited a lyric sheet that is not attached to a song now opens that sheet. It was dropping you on your track list.
  • NewYou are now told when your locker is filling up. A note arrives at 80 percent and again at 95 percent, and tells you how much room is left. These warnings were built but had never once reached anyone.
  • ImprovedYour storage total is now measured properly. The measurement had been failing silently since it was added, so the figure you saw could be out of date and plan limits were not being applied. If you are near or over your plan limit you will now hear about it, and uploads pause once you are full.
  • FixedThe Suggestions button in your notifications now opens Suggestions. It was quietly landing on your profile page instead.
  • FixedBeing told someone opened your share link now takes you to that share, matching what happens when you are told it was played. The two were sending you to different places.
  • ImprovedA notification saying several songs were added now opens your catalogue rather than picking one of them and hiding the rest.
  • ImprovedShare activity now opens from anywhere in the app, not only from the main pages. Every notification and every share button in the app now leads somewhere.
  • NewWhen you add a song to a locker you share with someone, they are now told. Anyone you have shared your locker with sees it in their notifications and can press it to open the song.
  • FixedPeople you share with now hear about the rest of your changes too. Renaming a song, adding lyrics, stems or a voice note reached nobody before, however you had shared it.
  • FixedYou are now told about changes other people make to your own songs. If someone you collaborate with added a version or renamed a track of yours, nothing ever reached you.
  • ImprovedAdding a lot of songs at once arrives as one notification rather than one per song, so a big upload no longer fills someone’s notifications.
  • FixedReloading now reliably brings your catalogue up to date. On startup the app was meant to re-check your songs against the server, but the check ran before the page was ready and quietly did nothing, so a reload could show you the same out of date list. This was also why the problem seemed to come and go at random.
  • FixedAdding a song no longer knocks another one out of your catalogue. Every time a song was added, restored from the bin, or shared with you, a different song could quietly disappear from your list until you reloaded. On a brand new locker, the very first upload could vanish while the counter still counted it.
  • FixedDragging a song onto a playlist shows it there straight away. It was being saved correctly but the playlist kept showing its old contents until you reloaded the page or restarted the Mac app.
  • FixedThe number beside a playlist now moves the moment you add something. Until now only removing a song updated it, so adding looked like it had not worked.
  • FixedSelecting songs in a brief now does something. The tick boxes were there with no action behind them, so choosing a few and looking for what to do next found nothing.
  • ImprovedSongs sent in and songs from your own catalogue now look the same and offer the same two choices, Keep or Pass, so you can weigh one against the other.
  • ImprovedA brief no longer searches your whole catalogue the moment you open it. You ask for it, one song at a time or all at once.
  • ImprovedThe submission link, and pausing it, moved to the top of the brief, so they are there whichever part of the brief you are looking at. A brief with no link yet offers to make one.
  • ImprovedA brief now tells you which project it lives in, and takes you there.
  • FixedKeeping or passing on a song in a brief now actually saves. It never has: every keep, every pass and every press of the S key was being refused by the database without saying so, so shortlists silently stayed empty.
  • NewOpening a brief now shows you the brief. Who is asking, by when, and every song they want with its sound and references. Before, you only ever saw its name.
  • NewA brief someone sent you can be read and corrected like any of your own. It never had an editor at all.
  • NewSongs that came in and songs from your own catalogue now sit in one list, so you can rank them against each other. Keep or pass is the only decision on either.
  • NewA new Shortlist tab holds what you kept, and that is where making a playlist, sending and downloading now live. They used to sit on songs nobody had judged yet.
  • NewOn a brief you received, a Sent tab shows what you put forward and what they decided about it: still waiting, accepted, or passed on.
  • NewYou can add a song to a brief straight from your catalogue by name, instead of running a search and hoping it comes back.
  • NewA brief you wrote now has its link, its pause switch and its room in one place, without going to find the project it lives in.
  • NewA brief someone sent you can be worked on with your team, if you choose. It stays private to you unless you say otherwise.
  • FixedThe briefs list shows your real briefs. It was showing dozens of test entries from an old version of the app, and every scrap of text ever pasted into a chat.
  • Fixed"Search my Locker for this" on a brief page now takes the brief in once and opens it, instead of doing it twice and telling you it was already there.
  • FixedSearching your catalogue against a brief no longer starts from scratch every time you switch tabs, and it starts on its own when you open the brief.
  • SecurityOnly the owner of a brief can delete it. Anyone who could merely open its project could destroy the whole thing.
  • ImprovedAccepting a song you kept no longer loses your decision about it, and a song someone sent you stops coming back later as one of your own.
  • ImprovedAccepting several songs at once now asks whether to email the senders and save them as contacts, the same as accepting one.
  • FixedKii can now see the songs in a locker someone has shared with you. Matching a brief, counting your catalogue and checking what needs attention all cover those songs, instead of telling you there is nothing there.
  • FixedClient zone listings show song names again. Every entry was appearing without one.
  • FixedFind Similar works when you narrow it by mood, genre or tempo. It was failing whenever any of those was set.
  • FixedLong names inside scrolling panels now shorten with a neat ellipsis instead of running past the edge. It was happening in every scrolling panel in the app.
  • ImprovedA playlist you share now names the writers and producers under each song, so whoever you sent it to can see who is behind every track without asking.
  • ImprovedA shared song leads with its writers and its producer, and a Full credits button opens the full list. Credits used to be listed alphabetically by role, which put A&R at the top and writers at the bottom.
  • FixedAn A&R credit now reads as A&R on a shared page, instead of A And R.
  • FixedThe song playing in a shared playlist shows a pause symbol, so it is clear that pressing it stops the music. It was showing a play symbol while the song was already playing.

Uploads are working again

  • FixedUploading files to a song you already have no longer sticks on "Checking upload limits". The upload stopped before it started, with no error and nothing to retry.
  • FixedTapping a chord in the Writing Room plays it again. The Circle of Fifths and the loop strip made no sound at all.

  • ImprovedShare links on mobile are grouped by song and open that song’s listening story, the same as on a computer. Tapping one used to drop you straight into its settings.

Briefs speak the same language as your catalogue

  • NewA brief can now ask for a mixed vocal or a rapped vocal. Those have always been things you could tag a song with, but there was no way to ask for one.
  • ImprovedThe vocal list on a brief is now the same single list you tag a song with, so a brief asks the question exactly the way the rest of Locker does.
  • NewA brief can ask for acoustic, electronic or mixed production, and matching takes it into account.
  • ImprovedEverything a brief asks for now uses the exact same words your songs are tagged with, so add a new tag and it becomes askable in a brief straight away.
  • ImprovedDropping in an outside brief now picks up its name and the reply-to address from the document instead of leaving both blank.

Your tags add up again

  • FixedThe Tag Manager was counting only part of your library, so every number it showed was too low and a tag used once could show as unused. It now counts your whole catalogue.
  • FixedThe Tag Manager and the catalogue filters now show the same number for the same tag. Both count songs, so a tag on five versions of one song counts once.
  • NewEight instruments and four moods that the analyser has been detecting all along are now yours to pick, filter and manage. Synth is the big one: if it was already on your songs it was invisible everywhere until now.
  • NewSinger Songwriter is now a genre in its own right rather than being treated as Folk.
  • FixedThe Vocal Type panel in the Tag Manager was always empty. It now lists your vocal types properly.

Songs can belong to more than one person

  • NewYou can now invite someone to co-own a song. Once they accept, it lives in their locker too, reaches the people they share their locker with, and they help manage who is on it.
  • NewPeople with edit access can now add others to a song, like in Google Docs. You stay in control: a switch on each song turns this off, and only owners can remove people or change roles.
  • NewShared lockers are now editable in place, and each area gets its own level: make someone an editor of your tracks but only a viewer of your projects, with fine-tuning inside every area.
  • ImprovedShare permissions now match everything a song actually contains: files, stems, videos, voice notes, lyrics, versions, and notes and feedback each have their own setting.
  • ImprovedEverything anyone adds to a song is now stored with the song itself, in one home, so a collaborator leaving can never take pieces of your music with them.
  • ImprovedStorage limits are now enforced fairly and gently: going over never touches your existing music, the last upload of a session always saves, and you get early warnings before anything pauses.

Your locker fills in what it already knows when you upload

  • NewTrack credits can now record master points: give anyone credited on a song their points on the record, choose net receipts or PPD, and even put different people on different bases when their deals differ. Totals stay per basis so the numbers always mean something.
  • NewDrop a spreadsheet of your catalogue in with your audio and the uploader reads it on the spot: writers, splits, status, location and publisher details fill in for matching songs while the files are still queued.
  • NewThe uploader now draws on everything your knowledge sources have taught Locker, and every pre-filled value shows where it came from, down to which spreadsheet said so.
  • ImprovedIf Locker already knows a song lives in your locker, uploading a new file of it suggests the right track straight away.
  • ImprovedOpen suggestions for a track now appear right inside the uploader when you add files to it, so you can settle them without a trip to the knowledge hub.

  • NewAccepting a submission turns it into a normal track in your locker, analyses it automatically, and can save the sender as a contact.
  • ImprovedEach sender gets their own conversation thread, so replies, acceptances and kind declines all happen over email without leaving Locker.

  • FixedSeparately, activity from people without a Locker account was being discarded before it was ever saved. Since most people you share with have no account, this was most of your share activity. Now recorded properly.
  • ImprovedThe Create Link panel has been rebuilt: every setting says what it actually does, the Get Link button is docked at the bottom where Send lives so it never scrolls out of reach, and once your link is ready the panel tells you what it will do rather than a generic line.
  • FixedText boxes and form fields across the app were almost the same colour as the page behind them, which made them hard to see. They now stand out properly in both light and dark mode.
  • FixedLong file names on attachment cards now shorten in the middle and scroll on hover, keeping the end of the name visible, the same as everywhere else in Locker.

  • NewRecognise a listener once and Locker remembers them everywhere. When someone gives a name you can link it to one of your contacts in one tap. Their past plays move onto that contact and every future visit is recognised automatically, on any link you send them.
  • ImprovedShare links now check the names you have already taught Locker. If a listener types a name you have linked before, their plays are matched to the right contact straight away.
  • NewPlayed now means listened. Share links record how long each visitor actually played, so next to each name you see real listening time instead of a bare play count. This also lays the groundwork for seeing which parts of a song get replayed the most.
  • ImprovedShare link panels are tidier: settings fold away until you need them, the people list leads, and linking a listener to a contact uses the same contact picker as the rest of Locker, including creating a new contact on the spot.

A much smarter Kii, and honest sharing

  • NewKii has a new brain. It now reads the results of everything it does and writes its own replies, so conversations feel natural, follow-ups actually follow on, and you can talk through a problem instead of starting over each message.
  • NewMatch briefs from anything: paste the text, drop in a PDF lead sheet (with many briefs at once), send a screenshot of an email, or attach a reference track, Kii fuses it all and matches against how your music actually sounds, not just its tags.
  • NewReference tracks now count. When a brief says "sounds like X" and you have that song, Kii uses its actual audio to anchor the matching, and you can refine results naturally: "more uptempo", "not those", "more like this one".
  • ImprovedKii replies appear as they're written, real streaming, word by word, instead of a long pause and a wall of text.
  • ImprovedWhen a track name could mean more than one thing (say you own a song and someone also shared one with the same name) Kii now asks which you mean instead of guessing.

Project spreadsheets, undo, and sharper songwriting tools

  • NewProject Sheet blocks now work like a real spreadsheet: type formulas (totals, references, basic maths), drag to fill a series down a column, sort by any column, and paste straight from Excel or Google Sheets with values landing in the right format.
  • NewUndo and redo on project pages. Step back through changes to a project's layout and blocks, and redo if you change your mind, and it's collaborator-safe, so undoing your own change won't wipe edits a teammate made at the same time.
  • NewSee who else is here: when a teammate is viewing the same project, their avatar now appears live on the page.
  • ImprovedSmarter rhyme and thesaurus suggestions in the lyrics editor. The words that are genuinely good to sing now rise to the top (more singable, more usable choices first) instead of just the most common word. Same panels, better picks.

Sharing, mobile, and a smarter Kii

  • NewYou can now search and sort the Knowledge Hub suggestions list. Search across song titles, writers, and source files; sort by most items per song (default), newest first, or alphabetically by song. Useful when a Knowledge Hub run produces a long list and you want to jump straight to a specific track.
  • FixedAudio analysis now recovers itself from temporary glitches. If a track's analysis fails because of a brief network or storage hiccup during a busy upload (rather than a problem with the file), Locker quietly re-runs it (both on the spot and the next time you open the app) so you don't have to spot it and re-analyze by hand. Real problems with a file still surface as before.
  • FixedThe Knowledge Hub suggestions list now loads instantly again, and stays fast no matter how large your catalogue grows, we removed an internal limit that could make the list hang on big catalogues.
  • ImprovedWhen Locker suggests adding versions to a song, you can now decide file-by-file where each one goes (keep it on this song, move it to a different track, split it into a brand-new track, or skip it) instead of one all-or-nothing choice. Handy when a few files share a title but aren't actually the same song. Files split into a new track are credited from their own filenames, so the writers stay accurate.
  • ImprovedOn that same "add version" card, you can now set a destination for a whole file format at once, one click sends every WAV (or every MP3) to this song, a different track, a new track, or skip. Keep your masters and reject the rough bounces in a couple of clicks instead of going file-by-file.
  • ImprovedEach proposed file now has a one-click × to skip it (click again to bring it back). Skipped rows strike through rather than vanish, so you can always see what you've set aside.
  • FixedLocker no longer re-suggests adding a version that's already on the song. If you'd already imported a file (or an earlier "add" was interrupted half-way (a dropped connection mid-accept)) the suggestion now quietly resolves itself instead of lingering as a duplicate you have to dismiss. Files with a genuinely different name are still offered, because renaming is treated as a deliberate choice.
  • FixedSkip-next and skip-previous now stay inside the list you started playing from. Before, if you pressed play on a track inside a playlist and then hit skip, the player would jump out of the playlist and into a different track, usually the next one from All Tracks. Now skip walks the playlist (or folder, or project, or search results) you're actually viewing. Auto-advance also now works: when a track finishes, the next one in the same list plays automatically.
  • FixedOn mobile, the skip-next and skip-previous buttons in the full-screen Now Playing view do something, they used to silently swallow taps. The Now Playing screen now walks the same list as the rest of the app.
  • FixedSkip-next and skip-previous on the public share pages people receive from you now jump to the next or previous track, they used to do a 10-second seek within the current track, which was confusing because the icons are universal next/previous icons. Shared playlists now also auto-advance: when a track ends, the next one plays.
  • FixedOn multi-track shares (where you send several different tracks in one link), skip now walks across every track in order, not just the versions of whichever track was clicked. Voice notes are still played individually, but the play / skip flow treats the share as one continuous listen-through of all the tracks you sent.
  • FixedKnowledge Hub no longer suggests adding a writer who is already credited on the track. The system used two slightly different rules for matching names (one stricter than the other) which let near-matches slip through and reappear as new-credit cards. Both layers now use the same rule, so an existing credit reliably suppresses a redundant suggestion regardless of hyphens, extra spaces or punctuation in the source data.
  • ImprovedLocker now recognises name shortenings against existing credits, if a track is credited to "Alex Rivers" and a source mentions "A Rivers" on the same song, Kii treats them as the same person and skips the duplicate suggestion. It also remembers the connection so future runs match instantly.
  • ImprovedFiles named with writing-session markers (Write 2, Session 3, Take 4, Pass 2, etc.) are now recognised as new versions of the existing song instead of being treated as brand-new tracks. The list of recognised markers is now broader.
  • ImprovedWhen a file lands with a title close-but-not-identical to an existing track, Locker now offers a "same song?" merge instead of silently creating a near-duplicate. Borderline title matches become an explicit choice for you rather than a quiet new-track creation.
  • ImprovedRejection memory now covers more types of suggestions. If you dismiss a duplicate-track merge proposal, Locker remembers and won’t re-propose the same merge across Knowledge Hub runs.
  • FixedAudio analysis no longer gets stuck, you can queue up hundreds of tracks for analysis at once and every one will complete. Previously, a bug could leave tracks hanging at "Finalizing results…" indefinitely with no way for the system to recover; the queue now self-heals every 30 seconds and an independent watchdog flags any backlog within minutes.

  • NewShare pages now have full dark mode. The share opens in whatever theme you (the sender) had in the app when you made it, share something at 2am in dark mode and the recipient sees it dark. Each recipient can flip it with a Sun/Moon toggle in the top-right; their choice is remembered for that specific share. Every part of the page adapts: header, collage, track sections, lyrics, voice notes, files, credits, the reply drawer, the intro animation.
  • ImprovedOn share pages, Voice Notes and Files sections under each track now collapse by default, they show the count in the header ("1 voice note", "3 files") and expand on click. Versions stay open as the headline content; lyrics, voice notes, files, and credits all match the same compact pattern so tracks with lots of working content don't blow out the page.
  • FixedMulti-track share links now show credits for every track, previously credits only appeared on single-track shares. Each track gets its own collapsible "Credits" section, matching what single-track shares have always shown.

When you upload "Anthem LEAD", "Anthem DBLS", "Anthem GANG", or "Lullaby +2semi", Locker recognises the marker, treats them all as versions of one song, and tags each with what it actually is (lead vocal / doubles / gang vocals / instrumental / acapella / key-shifted by N semitones). Existing tracks have been retroactively grouped, your catalogue is now structurally organised by version family.
  • ImprovedIf you remove a writer credit from a track, Locker now remembers, it won't re-propose the same credit on the next data sync. The system treats every manual unlink as a strong "no" signal.
  • ImprovedKnowledge auto-links now respect your previous "no" decisions. If you rejected a song-merge or contact-merge suggestion, the system won't quietly link them on the next data sync, it asks again instead.

  • NewEvery Kii suggestion you accept is now undoable from your History. Accepted a wrong writer credit? Hit undo and it's gone. Merged the wrong two songs? Undo splits them back. Set the wrong status / location? Undo restores the old value. Learned an alias you shouldn't have? Undo unlearns it and unlinks. Covers all five accept types: add credit, merge song, update field, update split, merge name alias.
  • ImprovedStopped the Knowledge system clumping different songs together just because one writer happens to appear on both. Previously, if you had two unrelated songs called "Earthquake" that shared a single co-writer, the system treated them as the same song, pulling all writers from both into one mixed entry. Now the system requires more than one shared writer to merge claims, so two different "Earthquake" songs stay correctly separate.
  • ImprovedAdd-credit cards no longer show the same person multiple times. If the same writer name appears across three CSV rows for one song, you now see one card, not three. Alias variants of the same name ("Jordan Bailey" + "Jordan Taylor Alexis Bailey") also collapse to a single "same person?" prompt instead of two new-credit cards.
  • ImprovedShort initials in writer credits ("JK", "MW", "SP") now ask you to confirm whether they match an existing writer on the track, instead of being added as a separate new credit. "JK" on a track that already has "Alex Rivers" credited will surface as a "same person?" merge prompt.
  • FixedCleaned a large batch of corrupted state from older Knowledge runs, collapsed duplicate writer rows under the same songs (the system had created multiple copies of the same person on the same track over several past updates), removed wrong writers that had been wrongly attached to your songs by the old clustering algorithm, and unlinked song matches where the title didn't actually align (like "Long Way Home" being treated as a version of "You"). All changes are reversible from your History.
  • ImprovedThe Knowledge system now re-checks every existing song match every time it runs. If a track's link to a canonical song no longer makes sense (title mismatch, or rules have changed), it self-corrects on the next run, you don't have to wait for a manual cleanup. Pre-existing mistakes heal themselves over time.
  • ImprovedThe name-matching used everywhere (suggesting writers, deduplicating credits) now handles typos and informal nicknames better. "Jordann" + "Jordan" are now treated as the same name despite the typo. "Steph" prefixed inside "Stephenie" gets recognised even though it's not in our nickname dictionary. The system surfaces these as "same person?" prompts rather than creating duplicate writer credits.
  • FixedWhen you (or the system) explicitly removes a wrong writer from a song, the removal now sticks across Knowledge runs. Previously, removed writers could resurface on the next run because the underlying source data still mentioned them, now your decision overrides what the raw source rows say. Removed further wrong-writer entries that had crept back in this way, and cleared stale cards from your inbox.
  • FixedThe Knowledge system can now physically separate different songs that share a title and one co-writer. Previously, if your "Earthquake" had Alex Rivers as a co-writer AND a different, unrelated "Earthquake" also had Alex Rivers as a co-writer, the system clustered them as ONE song, pulling in all the other writers from the unrelated track. The system now applies a stricter "are these really the same song?" test that requires more than one shared writer, and retroactively split the affected songs. Your songs and the unrelated same-titled ones are now correctly stored as separate entries.
  • ImprovedThe "are these really the same song?" check now applies to titles of any length. Previously, songs with long titles like "The Way I Love You" got auto-linked on title alone, even if the writer sets were completely different. Now the same writer-overlap rule covers every title length, so two unrelated songs that happen to share a long common phrase stay separate and surface as a "same song?" prompt for you to decide.
  • NewDrag-to-alias on Add-Credit suggestions. When the Knowledge Hub proposes adding a new writer like "Sam (a band)" to a track that already has "Sam Porter" credited, you can now drag the proposed name onto the existing credit on the same card. Locker learns the alias, applies the credit to the existing contact instead of creating a duplicate, and remembers the alias for future runs. The card also shows a clear "New" or "In contacts" badge so you can tell at a glance whether accepting will create a new contact or link to an existing one.
  • ImprovedKnowledge Hub suggestions now load instantly when you navigate back to the screen OR refresh the browser. Previously every return trip (and every Cmd+R) re-fetched the entire suggestion list against the live catalogue, which could take several seconds. The page now trusts its own cache (which now also survives a browser refresh, persisted to your device for up to 24 hours) and only refreshes when something actually changes, a Knowledge Hub run completes, or you accept/reject/dismiss a card.
  • Fixed"Apply even splits" is now much faster and no longer times out. Editing one writer credit used to do the same bookkeeping work twice, so applying even splits across several writers could pile up enough redundant work to occasionally hang. That work now happens once per edit, roughly halving it.
  • Fixed"Apply even splits" is also responsive on the FIRST click now. Previously the split boxes kept showing the old numbers for up to a second after you clicked, the change had actually applied, but it looked like nothing happened until you clicked again. The new numbers now appear straight away. Same fix applied to per-row split edits where typing in one writer's box auto-balances the others.
  • ImprovedAlias previews on add-credit cards now propagate across every card showing the same proposed name. If "CMorgan" is being proposed as a writer on multiple tracks and you resolve it to "Casey Morgan" (via drag or the Resolve picker) on one card, every other card with "CMorgan" picks up the same green preview automatically. You still Add each one individually (every card represents a separate credit) but you only have to make the alias decision once. Cancelling the preview on any card clears it everywhere, which matches the mental model: "CMorgan is the same person as Casey Morgan" is one fact, not many.
  • Improved"Same song?" cards now show a preview of what's being compared. Before, the card asked "is this the same song?" but only showed the existing track's info (the version that came in from your sources was a black box. Now each card shows the proposed match on top (title, observed writers, location, source label like "Dropbox · Golden Hour [example collaborators] [120bpm Cmaj] v1.0.mp3" or "CSV · My Catalogue.csv") and the existing track in your Locker below) matching the proposed-on-top / existing-below pattern used everywhere else in the Knowledge Hub. A small footer surfaces the title-match % and shared-writer count from the system so you can adjudicate with the same evidence it used.
  • Fixed"Same song" acceptances are now sovereign (they never get silently undone by automated cleanup sweeps. Earlier today the Knowledge cleanup passes were unlinking song matches you had explicitly confirmed, because the system was re-checking writer-set overlap and finding it too low (typically when one side spells names like "RLee" and the other has "Robin Lee") same person, different label). Result: the same "Same song?" suggestion kept coming back even after you'd accepted it. Now your explicit decisions are flagged in the database and skipped by every algorithmic sweep. Two previously-broken links got restored automatically as part of the fix.
  • ImprovedQuick-filter chips on Add Version and Add Track cards. When a track has versions in multiple file formats (e.g. 8 .wav and 6 .mp3), you can now click a single chip to select only one format at a time, with an "all" button to restore. Chips only appear when there's actually a mix, single-format cards stay clean. Saves a lot of clicking when you want to add only the mastered WAVs from a folder full of work-in-progress MP3s (or vice versa).
  • ImprovedDrag-to-alias on Add Track cards is now a preview, matching the Add Credit pattern. Before, dropping a name onto another name fired the alias write to the server instantly (a misdrop meant going to History to undo. Now the drop just stages a preview locally with an "aliased" pill on the nested row; the alias only gets written when you actually click Add to Locker. Misdrop? Click the × and it's gone) nothing ever hit the server.
