Folders
Group tracks, playlists and other folders, the way that suits you.
How Folders Work
Locker has one kind of folder. A folder can hold tracks, playlists and other folders, so you can group things by client, year, album, or whatever matches your workflow. Something can sit in more than one folder at once: putting a track in a second folder never takes it out of the first.

Creating and Managing Folders
- Make a folder from the plus (choose Folder), or the plus beside the Music title
- Drag tracks or playlists onto a folder, or tick them and use Add to, then Folder
- Put folders inside folders: drop one folder onto another
- Rename a folder from its ··· menu
- Trash a folder: Locker asks whether to trash just the folder or the folder and what is in it. Just the folder leaves its tracks and playlists in Music, and restoring it files them back
Finding Your Folders
On Music, the switch at the top shows All, Tracks, Playlists or Folders. Open a folder to see what is inside; the path at the top takes you back up a level. You can also filter Music by folder, or type "in Demos" in search.
Folders vs Playlists
Folders and playlists serve different purposes:
- Folders group things for you to find them. A folder can hold tracks, playlists and other folders.
- Playlists are an ordered list of tracks to play, send or pitch, each one able to stay on a particular version.
Folders vs Tags
Tags (covered in Creating Your First Track) are labels that describe a track. A track can have many tags. Use tags for qualities like mood or workflow state that apply to tracks across many folders.
Use folders and tags together. Folders for "what it belongs to", tags for "what it is".
