Organize your catalog with nested folder structures.
How Folders Work
Organise your tracks into folders just like files on your computer. Folders create a strict hierarchy: each track lives in exactly one folder (or at the root if not in any folder). This is ideal for organising by project, client, year, album, or whatever structure matches your workflow.

Creating and Managing Folders
- Create folders from the sidebar or by right-clicking in the library
- Drag tracks into folders to move them
- Nest folders for deeper organisation (e.g., "2025" containing "Album Sessions" and "Sync Pitches")
- Rename folders by right-clicking or double-clicking the name
- Delete folders at any time; tracks inside are moved to the root, not deleted
Navigating Folders
Click a folder in the sidebar to view its contents. Use the breadcrumb trail at the top of the library to jump back up the hierarchy. You can also use the search bar while inside a folder to search only within that folder.
Folders vs Playlists
Folders and playlists serve different purposes:
- Folders are hierarchical and exclusive. A track lives in one folder.
- Playlists are references. The same track can appear in many playlists.
Use folders to structure your catalogue (by project, client, year). Use playlists to group tracks for playback, sharing, or pitching.
Folders vs Tags
Tags (covered in Creating Your First Track) create cross-cutting categories. A track can have many tags. Use tags for attributes like location, workflow state, or any label that applies to tracks across multiple folders.
Use folders and tags together for maximum flexibility. Folders for "where it lives", tags for "what it is".
