Search & Filters

Find any track in your catalog instantly.

Search

Search sits at the top left of the dock, or press Cmd+K. What you type filters the page you are on as you type: tracks by title, artist, credited contact, tag or lyrics on Music, sessions on Sessions, and so on. While a page is filtered, your words sit first in the row under its toolbar, beside any other filters; click them to see everything again. A track found by words you cannot see under its name, like its lyrics or a tag, says where they were in a line under it. A line under the search shows what else in Locker matches, like a lyric, a voice note, a brief, a concept, a roster sheet or a folder, and See all lists everything, the page you are on first. Each kind in the list folds away from its heading. Opening a result takes you where it lives: a track opens on Music with its panel, a lyric opens in Writing with its track panel beside it, a brief opens on Briefs, a person opens on People. On a phone, each page has its own search at the top.

Search understands your own words. Type "pop", "A minor", "120 bpm", "from London", "by Sam Fry" or "in Demos" and Music filters to match. Ask a question instead and press Enter, and Kii answers it.

Filters

On Music, Filter opens in the side panel, grouped and with live counts, so you can narrow your library by several things at once:

  • Status: the stage each track is at
  • BPM range: Find tracks in a specific tempo range
  • Musical key: Filter by key signature
  • Genre: Filter by genre tags
  • Mood: Filter by mood tags
  • Instruments: Filter by detected instruments
  • Artist / Pitch: Separate artist tracks from pitch tracks
  • Credits: Find tracks linked to a specific person
  • Where: tracks made in a particular place

Filters combine with each other and with search. For example, search for "summer" filtered to 120-130 BPM in C major to find exactly what you need.
