Exporting Your Contact List
How to export contacts from Google, Apple, Outlook, and other platforms as a CSV for import into Locker.
Why Import Contacts?
Importing your contacts gives Kii a roster of the people you work with, writers, producers, artists, managers, and publishers. This lets Kii automatically match names when you upload tracks, suggest credits, and keep your collaborator network connected.
You don't need a perfectly clean spreadsheet. Locker's importer auto-detects columns and lets you map fields before importing.
Google Contacts
- Go to contacts.google.com
- Click "Export" in the left sidebar (or select specific contacts first)
- Choose "Google CSV" format
- Click "Export" to download the file
Apple Contacts (Mac)
- Open the Contacts app on your Mac
- Select the contacts you want to export (or Cmd+A for all)
- Go to File → Export → Export vCard, then convert to CSV using a free online tool
- Alternatively, open iCloud.com/contacts, select all, and use the gear icon → Export vCard
Apple doesn't export CSV directly. The easiest route is to sync your contacts to Google and export from there, or use a free vCard-to-CSV converter online.
Microsoft Outlook
- Open Outlook and go to People (contacts)
- Click "Manage" → "Export contacts"
- Choose "All contacts" or a specific folder
- Click "Export" to download as CSV
From a Spreadsheet
If you keep your contacts in a spreadsheet already, just make sure it's saved as .csv or .xlsx. Locker will auto-detect columns like Name, Email, Company, Phone, and Role.
What Locker Needs
At minimum, Locker just needs names. But the more you include, the more Kii can do:
- Name: required (first name, last name, or full name)
- Email: helps with collaboration invites and matching
- Company: label, publisher, studio, or management company
- Role: songwriter, producer, artist, manager, A&R, etc.
- Phone: optional, stored for your reference
