Permissions & Access Levels
Control exactly who can see and edit what.
How Permissions Work
Every track, playlist and lyric in Locker has an owner. Owners can add collaborators and give each one a role. Permissions decide what collaborators can see and do.
Role-Based Access
When you add a collaborator, you choose a role that sets their access:
- Editor: Full edit access to the content. Editors can upload versions, edit lyrics, add files, and make changes. They cannot move the track to the Trash or change other collaborators' access.
- Viewer: Read-only access. Viewers can listen, read lyrics, and download (if downloads are allowed), but cannot make changes.
An owner can also invite someone as a co-owner. Once they accept, they have the same control you do.
Custom Permissions
For finer control, you can set access per part of a track, each as Edit, View, or None:
- Versions
- Lyrics
- Files
- Stems
- Voice Notes
- Videos
- Notes & feedback
For example, you might give a lyricist Edit on Lyrics but View on Versions. They can hear the audio to write to, but only change the words.
Letting Editors Invite
The Editors can add people switch lets your editors bring more people in. Only owners can change someone's role or remove them.
Changing or Removing Access
Open the track's People tab and find the person under Collaborators. Use the role menu on their row to change their role or permissions, or choose Remove. Changes take effect immediately.
Removing someone does not undo any edits they made. Their changes stay part of the track, and its History shows who made them.
