People, Teams & Roster

People and Contacts

Everyone you work with, linked to the tracks they worked on.

Your People

People is Locker's address book for the music industry: writers, producers, artists, managers, A&Rs, publishers and anyone else you work with. Each person is linked to the tracks they are credited on, so their card shows everything you have done together.

People has four sides, switched at the top: Everyone, Team, Roster and Places.

Adding People

  • Press the plus beside the People title and choose Person
  • Import a contacts file: open the ··· menu and choose Import people. See Exporting Your Contact List
  • Let Locker find them: names it reads from your filenames and catalogue sheets are offered to you to add, never added by themselves

Adding someone to People does not tell them or give them access to anything. To work with them inside Locker, use Add a collaborator; to send them music, use Share.

Roles and Groups

Each person can have one or more roles, such as songwriter, producer, artist, mixer, engineer, manager or publisher, plus any you define. Filter People by role, company or place ("producers in London"), and put people in groups to keep them together.

If the same person is in People twice, tick both and merge them, choosing which details to keep.

Credits on Tracks

Credits live on a track's People tab. Each person is listed once with their roles, their writer split and their master points. When Locker reads writer names from your filenames, it matches them to your People to help build credits faster.

Credits are not the same as tags. They are links between a track and a person, with the roles they played.

Writer splits add up to 100%. Producers usually take master points instead, which are kept separately.

Your Own Card

Your own details (photo, work, representatives, links) are on the You page in Settings, where you choose which ones other people can see. Your public face, also in Settings, shows exactly what they see.
