Voice Memos

Record and manage voice notes for your tracks.

What Are Voice Memos?

Voice Memos let you capture quick audio ideas, vocal melodies, feedback notes, or anything else you want to attach to a track. Record directly in Locker or upload existing recordings.

Recording a Voice Memo

  • Open a track's inspector and go to the Voice Memos section
  • Click the record button to start capturing audio
  • Click stop when you're done
  • Your recording is automatically attached to the track

Voice memos are great for capturing quick melody ideas, production notes for collaborators, or vocal direction references.

Transcription & Smart Markers

Locker can automatically transcribe your voice memos to text using AI speech-to-text. This makes it easy to search through recordings and reference specific ideas.

Smart Marker Detection analyzes your voice memos and identifies key moments (like when you hum a melody, say a lyric idea, or give production direction) so you can jump straight to the important parts.

Transcriptions and smart markers make voice memos far more useful than raw recordings. You can scan the text instead of re-listening to entire recordings to find what you need.

Managing Voice Memos

  • Rename voice memos for easy identification
  • Play them back directly in the inspector
  • View transcriptions and jump to smart markers
  • Delete ones you no longer need
  • Attach voice memos to messages when collaborating
