How Messaging Works
Locker includes a built-in messaging system designed for music collaboration. It works like email (with TO, CC, and BCC fields) but adds rich attachment support for your music content.
Sending a Track as a Message
Attachment Types
You can attach various types of content to messages:
- Tracks: Share a track with a specific version
- Playlists: Share an entire playlist
- Voice Notes: Record or attach voice memos inline
- Stems: Share stem packs
- Lyrics: Attach lyrics documents
- Files: Attach any file
- Briefs: Share creative briefs with genre, mood, and tempo requirements
Message Types
Beyond plain messages, Locker supports structured message types for common workflows:
- Feedback Request: Ask for feedback on a track or version
- Mix Notes: Send detailed mixing feedback
- Stems Request: Request stems from a collaborator
- Version Request: Ask for a new version or revision
- Brief: Share a creative brief with genre, mood, and tempo requirements
- Pitch: Submit or request a pitch for a track
- Playlist: Share or request a curated playlist
