Files & Attachments

Attach documents, images, and other files to tracks.

What Track Files Are For

Beyond audio, you can attach any file type to a track: contracts, artwork, session notes, reference images, chord charts, mix notes, and more. Files are stored securely in the track's Files section and count toward your plan's storage limit alongside audio.

This keeps everything related to a song in one place. When you open a track, all its supporting documents are right there in the inspector.

Supported File Types

You can upload almost any file type:

  • Documents: PDF, Word, text files, spreadsheets
  • Images: JPEG, PNG, GIF, WEBP, and other common formats
  • Archives: ZIP files containing session folders or stems
  • Design files: Photoshop, Illustrator, or other project files
  • Videos: Reference videos, music videos, or sync placements

Large files upload in the background. You can continue working while uploads complete.

Uploading Files

There are two ways to add files to a track:

  • Drag and drop files directly into the Files section of the track inspector
  • Click the upload button in the Files section and select files from your computer

You can also upload files during track creation in the Smart Uploader. Drag non-audio files alongside your audio, and Locker will attach them to the new track.

Managing Files

  • Rename files to keep them organised (click the file name)
  • Download files at any time with a single click
  • Delete files you no longer need (they move to the Trash first)
  • Share files with collaborators through messages by attaching them to a message

Storage and Limits

Files count toward your plan's storage limit alongside versions, stems, and voice memos. You can check your current usage in Profile & Settings under Plans & Billing. If you approach your limit, consider archiving or deleting files you no longer need, or upgrading to a higher plan.
